After the game is prepared (both integration and localization) to be launched in STOVE, now it is the time to receive Ratings.
Every game released or distributed in Korean region has to receive ratings from GRAC.
However, some entities have been granted to act as a Self-Rating Business Operators, and STOVE Store is one of them. STOVE Store has the rights to grant ratings which are under R-18 equivalent. Those games which are to receive R-18 equivalent has to receive its rating evaluation from Korean Game Rating and Adminitration Committee.
The purpose of this section is to explain the overall Self-Ratings evaluation process from STOVE Store, and clear out any questions which developers/publishers might have.
0. How Long does it take to receive Self-Ratings from STOVE? How much does it cost?
It is free, and it usually takes less than 5 workdays at maximum. (for Korean localized builds, for builds in other languages, it can take massively longer. Therefore we suggest to prepare Korean applied build when trying to receive ratings.)
However, if the game is considered to receive an R-18 equivalent rating, then the assessment is passed to Korean GRAC; it will take around 4-5 weeks, and might require additional explanation about the game. For GRAC assessments it does have some financial burden, but STOVE Store supports those financial burdens.
Below is the diagram to enhance your understanding of the self-ratings evaluation in STOVE Store.
